The last two shows with Rogan and Lex being with Thiel and @levelsio is interesting for a very important reason: It shows that consumers more than ever care about startups and entrepreneurship. This is the start of mainstream media really pivoting to telling startup stories.
  • @jrfarr JR Farr on x
This makes me so happy to see @levelsio doing his thing with Lex. Talking about lifting, building, depression. Life is messy. Like a startup is messy. It's raw, it's unscripted but we find a way.

This clip is singlehandedly gonna cause so much damage in the ecosystem Just because he can ship using PHP and jquery doesn't mean you can or should You are not building 40 startups all by yourself, you are probably building for long term in a collaborative environment

Pieter Levels on Lex Fridman, when asked about his deploy-straight-to-production way of building: “It's idiotic for a big company, but for me, it works” People at big companies: “BUT THIS WON'T WORK FOR ME, HE'S WRONG!!!!” 🤦What podcast were YOU listening to? 🤣

Going on the record to say @levelsio method of writing software is based af and we can all learn from how he prioritizes delivery over everything else

Pieter Levels talking for 3 hours: “I don't know what I do—I am learning daily. Just ship it. I am lucky. You can't predict your way to success.” People after listening for 3 hours: “Pieter has found a secret formula that works!” [image]

why is it so hard for developers to understand context this is a terrible way to develop software with a team it's great for shipping fast as a solo dev [image]
  • @amasad Amjad Masad on x
Software engineering has become so bloated and safetyist that a solo dev deploying straight to prod is considered such a super risky move 😱😱😱 (obv Levels is impressive for how prolific he is)

Recently, I watched an interview @levelsio had with @lexfridman, and one thing 🤯 blew my mind: a vanilla HTML, PHP, and JS tech stack. Here are my two cents. 🧵Thread: [image]

no. he's not an “absolute chad” he's a liability. idk why anyone would see this as a good thing. it really shows he cares more about money than he does about writing good code.

@devagrawal09 I disagree. I think someone making money with jquery and raw php is good for the php and jquery folks. Both communities could use the boost in validation.
  • @sebaaltonen Sebastian Aaltonen on x
That's pretty much what game devs are doing. Not pushing to production of course, but pushing directly to dev and everybody in the team gets the fixes immediately. If something breaks somebody fixes it in 15 minutes and pushes the first. Always moving forward.

Pieter's one big superpower is a seemingly infinite reservoir of IDGAF energy. He just keeps shipping and posting whatever he wants. Everyone else is paralyzed by past failures, past successes, or the pursuit of finding that one grand idea.

I'm stoked to see my friend @levelsio on such a big platform. Pieter's the same guy up close that you see on social media. He makes people around him think bigger, ditch their excuses - and put their ideas out there. That's why we're all unemployable. 😁

just watched the first 33m and totally like this interview. This is quite a valuable and informative podcast. @levelsio is my legend, the one who motivated me to learn JavaScript four years ago and to build websites by myself for my own businesses. Still the best decision of mine

Good interview. Watch it. He's a tech builder who started with launching an ebook and has grown from there to running multiple profitable software startups. Solid example of execution mattering more than the ideas. And the importance of constant action over time.
