Malaysia had already emerged as a broader investment destination as chip companies sought alternatives to China, while Big Tech commitments were increasing across Southeast Asia. Johor gives that regional capital cycle a location-specific outlet: infrastructure can be sited outside Singapore while remaining in its orbit.
