Excited to announce the Threads API is launching today - you can now use your favorite third-party applications to publish posts, reply to others, see insights and more.  Hope this helps businesses and creators manage their Threads presence at scale. …
  • @zuck Mark Zuckerberg on threads
The Threads API is now widely available, and coming to more of you soon.

Curious if “Widely available” means it's not yet available for EU based devs.

I don't think the API let's you request your timeline or other people's posts (unless they are replies to your posts), therefore a traditional 3rd party app isn't feasible.  I think the API is intended more for businesses to manage their accounts.

I fondly remember when Twitter had an API and people built so many clever things around it.  Hope this will happen again.

The Threads API that my team and I have been working on is finally open to all developers!  This API can be used to retrieve and publish posts on Threads.  It can also be used to manage replies and view insights.  Read more about it here: https://developers.facebook.com/ ... @pme…

It's almost as if Threads is Bizarro Twitter. And I mean that in the best way possible in this case.

Meta has just launched its Threads API for developers, allowing them to build “unique integrations.” I'm hoping this will lead to third-party Threads apps https://www.theverge.com/...
