My fuzzy guess is 50% consumer, 35% API (including MS royalty), 15% enterprise.

Anyone care to speculate on the breakdown of OpenAI revenue across chatgpt consumer, chatgpt enterprise, and API?

News: Revenue at OpenAI ~doubled~ in the last 6 months. And while many ppl thought a lot of revenue was coming from Microsoft selling OpenAI tech and giving the startup a cut... au contraire. This revenue is almost all direct from ChatGPT and other OpenAI sales. [image]

So it's now valued at a modest 23.5x revenues.

Who said just Nvidia was making money from the AI boom? https://www.theinformation.com/ ...

TheInformation reporting Azure OpenAI is at a $1B run rate. That seems low? Would mean that it's less than 1/3 of the AI revenue MSFT has talked about on calls? And seems inconsistent with Nadella saying 2 Q's ago that Azure OpenAI and OAI APIs were the “major drivers”. [image]

“We are not approaching this from a perspective of we just need to...quash regulations . . . because we don't have a goal of maximising profit; we have a goal of making sure that AGI benefits all of humanity” #OpenAI: capped-profit, uncapped bullshit https://www.ft.com/...

‘#OpenAI has rapidly built up an international team of lobbyists over the past year, as the #ChatGPT maker joins rivals such as Google and Meta in seeking to influence new regulations while politicians increase their scrutiny over #AI.’ https://www.ft.com/...

OpenAI now has *35* in-house lobbyists, and will have 50 by the end of the year. [image]
