    AWS messaging notably shifting for first time since slowdown began. No longer optimizations “attenuating”, now it's “largely completed”. Talking about investing heavily in capex against demand signals, customers resuming large projects, etc. Much more forceful than last few Qs.

    Amazon had $49bn of ad revenue in the last 12 months.  It's almost certainly more cash-generative than AWS (which had $29bn of operating income, minus a whole lot of capex)

    Amazon Ads had an insane Q1, doing $11.8 billion in revenue. Switching to Prime Video to ad funded by default is really paying off. For context YouTube also monstered analyst expectations and delivered “just” $8.1 billion. Glad to be a shareholder 😅

    Amazon made $11.8 billion in revenue from selling ads last quarter. To put that into perspective, ad revenue across all of YouTube during the same time period was just $8.1 billion.
