  1/ I am very surprised that Judge Kaplan only sentenced Mr. Bankman-Fried to 25 years.  The Guidelines called for 110 years and the US Attorney's Office requested a sentence of 40 - 50 years.  Judge Kaplan ruled against Mr. Bankman-Fried on virtually every factual issue,

  I expect a lot of drama over the fact that Judge Kaplan gave SBF “only” 25 years.  What if I told you 25 years is a lot?  I would have been a bit surprised if he went below 20 but this doesn't surprise me, based on how courts treat white collar stuff.

  About what I figured he would ultimately serve. I thought Kaplan would throw the book and he'd appeal it down. @SBF_FTX will be 57 when he's released (probably low 50s accounting for parole). It's not what he wanted but it's a reasonably good outcome for him.
