Telegram and X and Meta are as bad as TikTok and no one should be using any of them, if we are honest.

A Russian could have literal billions, live a few thousand kilometers away from the motherland, pedal himself as a free thinker, and still remain a total slave, unable to make a single meaningful statement without a nod from the owner.

Pavel Durov just gave the first interview in 7 years to @FT The piece offers a very insightful look into the Telegram founder's stance on content moderation, free speech, etc. Also, I am quoted there but don't read it for my quotes, read it for Pavel's own https://www.ft.com/...

Telegram's Pavel Durov avoids answering when asked his position on President Vladimir Putin or the Russia-Ukraine conflict. “Let's not go there,” he says, adding that it is “very important for the world to retain Telegram as a neutral platform”. https://www.ft.com/...

The explosion of #Telegram's criminal underworld is just one facet of the platform's broader, dizzying rise in recent years, https://www.ft.com/... [image]

Telegram owner Pavel Durov says it “is “very important for the world to retain Telegram as a neutral platform.” Telegram is hardly “neutral” when it permits the spread of vast amounts of disinformation and propaganda by aggressive powers like Russia. https://www.ft.com/...
