A year after adding à la carte sales of audiobooks, Spotify is offering paying subscribers 15 hours of books a month.

    Big competitive threat to Audible. For $15/month, Audible customers get one book. Typical listener could get 1-3 audiobooks worth of playback each month with Spotify plan for less money + get unlimited music streaming.

    Pretty cool development for self-published authors who also have audiobooks. Spotify is competing with the giants, Apple and Amazon/Audible, in the audio book space. Let's see if and how that contributes to sales. Both my books will be on Spotify, of course. [image]

    This is maybe my favorite Spotify launch the last few years. It's been a looong time in the making. I'm a huge book fan and I think that audiobooks in an access model can do to reading what the access model did to music and make a lot more people - that may not consider...
