X is planning to shut down Circles, a feature that lets you share posts with a limited group of people instead of all of your followers.

    all those hardcore software engineers can't figure out a better way to let people remove others from their twitter circle beyond “unfollow them and then follow them again” remarkable stuff [image]

    got to love how Twitter is shutting Circles down but not a peep about what's happening to everyone's private tweets that were posted to Circles do they get deleted? do they become public? do they continue to exist in some weird post purgatory? who knows! [image]

    They used the term “depreciating” which I'm reading as people outside of your circle won't be able to see past posts you've made. You just won't be able to make new ones/add people to your circle. Post Popbase didn't bother to link: https://help.twitter.com/... [image]

    circles was one of the only ways you can talk about something online without having the wider crap of the world chiming in.
