Judge Kaplan: The defendant is remanded. AUSA Sassoon: This should not change the trial date. We'll stick to all deadlines. [US Marshals move in - SBF takes off his jacket and tie, leans down to take off his shoelaces

Bahahahahahaah Take that, you witness tampering vegan-faking, money stealing, egotistical, delusional, coked-up, fraudulent, orgy-goblin, bean bag sleeping, self-entitled, stuck-up, pudgy little, twatwaffle. I hope you enjoy prison. 🫡

Judge Kaplan: He subscribed from the Bahamas and used a VPN as if he were in the Bahamas when he was in Palo Alto and could have watched it on public TV. It shows the mindset. All things considered I am going to revoke bail.

SBF appeal of remand to jail filed less than an hour after handcuffs, $505 filing fee paid - Inner City Press will follow the appeal in the Second Circuit, too [image]

Judge Kaplan: The defendant had the reporter come to his home and didn't give him copies but rather see it and take notes. There are quotes in the NYT identical to the language in those documents [which are still sealed despite this: https://storage.courtlistener.com/ ...

I was in the courtroom when Sam Bankman-Fried was just ordered to jail. The reaction was downright funereal. Approached by three U.S. Marshalls, Sam took off his jacket, tie, shoes and emptied his pockets. His mom broke down in tears. Press were escorted out before the cuffs.

Judge Kaplan: Mr. Bankman-Fried entertained the reporter at his parents' home in Palo Alto and showed some portion of Ms. Ellison's private writings. The US said it was to intimidate her and others. The defense says it's about a First Amendment right

“SBF takes off his jacket and tie, leans down to take off his shoelaces” Yikes. Hard to picture Sam Bankman-Fried in Rikers, but assume that's where he's spending the night https://fortune.com/...

Judge Kaplan: In view of the evidence, my conclusion is that there is probable cause to believe that the defendant has attempted to tamper with witnesses at least twice under Section 1512(b)

SBF is really running out of ways to dig himself into more trouble, but I'm sure a boy genius such as himself will find a way, even from jail. Tapping out messages to other inmates on the pipes? Scratching detailed “explanations” into the wall?

SBF was free on $250 million bail, but using a VPN to watch a football game and contacting a witness over Signal has put the former crypto billionaire in prison as he awaits trial. https://www.theverge.com/...
