Here's 15-year old me at the first-ever E3 in 1995. E3 meant so much to me and to so many of you too. Four years ago, I realized that E3 wasn't evolving as it needed to compete in a global, digital world. So we started building what's next. See at @summergamefest June 8. https://…

I'll always remember 1997 as peak E3. We'd signed Unreal 1 with GT Interactive and were demoing it at their booth to an absolute mob of gamers. Word spreads around that the design and graphics are a huge leap and legendary developers start showing up to check it out. https://twit…

The ESA announced today that this year's E3 has been canceled. The event was supposed to be held from June 13-16 at the LA Convention Center and would have been the first in-person E3 event since 2019. For more info: https://www.ign.com/... https://twitter.com/...

E3 canceled, end of an era, but the show has been dying for several years, so not unexpected. A lot of good memories from game announcements, reveals etc. https://www.ign.com/...

My strongest memories about E3 are regrets that I was a big nerd loser who wasted nights in hotel rooms on shitty WiFi posting hastily written previews instead of drinking free booze at parties. Those articles were meaningless to managers who might be too hungover to even read ht…

What a shame, I had the pleasure to work my ass off at three E3s and they were all great times. A hard graft and bizarre treasured adventures outside the show. I shall miss it. https://twitter.com/... https://twitter.com/...

In a year where the games press has been through the wringer, it sucks to see it go. Not necessarily for those who have been, but because it's a loss for those who haven't. Young journalists deserve a show like E3 to go to, ignite their passion, meet peers, and hone their craft. …

i'm not surprised E3 is as outdated an informational format as magazines like GamePro, Nintendo Power, and Game Informer in a world where Nintendo and Sony can showcase games year round with a Nintendo Direct or State of Play, a once a year E3 is literally old news https://twitte…

for context. the ESA had planned to work with me on announcing E3, and then they were like “wait not yet” and then i never heard back for reasons obvious now. i will miss E3. https://twitter.com/...

From an events perspective the landscape has changed a lot over these last few years, including the rising cost. However, saying goodbye to E3, an event thats dominated and shaped gaming and development cycles is bittersweet. So many incredible moments have happened thanks to E3 …

RIP I'll never forget my first e3 when polygon stayed in a place with barbed wire around the perimeter and I accidentally flashed my bra during an interview because my top button had snapped on the run over https://twitter.com/...

Lots of thoughts about the cancellation of E3 from all directions, so I'll leave my paragraphs out of the fray for now. Most of all, feeling bad for the companies that were still on board and trying to make it happen. I really hope the event can return next year!

On one hand, I'm upset I'll likely never get to experience E3 in person. On the other, E3 has felt unnecessary for years, and with their failure to adapt and become exciting again, this is no surprise. Just dedicate a week to digital events in June and we're golden. https://twitt…

my best and most productive E3s were the ones where i worked from home. it's fun to attend once, then you realize you're working 60+ hour weeks and not being paid overtime at a job with zero security https://twitter.com/...

For years even before Covid, E3 was losing relevancy as the industry changed. Hype cycles have shortened, and the big release windows became spread out across the year. That big summer touch point for all news isn't really a thing any more. And other shows have ate it's lunch.

E3 2023 has officially been cancelled due to lack of interest. In an era of Nintendo Directs, State of Plays and everything else, online showcases have proven to be just as effective in terms of excitement and presenting information. https://twitter.com/...

E3 2023 was dead the moment Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony said nah. Let's be real here people. This isn't shocking.

End of an era. E3 will always have a special place in my heart both as a consumer, but also as a professional attending it. While it doesn't feel like a surprise, it sure is sad to see it go. 😓 https://twitter.com/...
