Inside Industrial Light & Magic's secret Star Wars VR lab

In 2015, Industrial Light & Magic is running a hidden motion-capture stage — "the cave" — to prototype Star Wars experiences in virtual reality before the public sees any of it. The lab sits inside a broader Los Angeles build-out of immersive-production capacity that same year, including the launch of a VR film studio staffed by Lucasfilm alums who left for Jaunt.
