Unity announces full support for Microsoft HoloLens

Microsoft has spent the spring building out the case for HoloLens: the January unveiling of the headset and Windows Holographic interface, then word that it would run Xbox games. What was missing was a developer pipeline — and Unity, with its large installed base of game developers, announcing full support supplies exactly that on day one.
This makes Unity the first major engine to commit to the platform, ahead of Epic, which per the related coverage did not bring Unreal Engine 4 support until years later with HoloLens 2.
