Nvidia and Meta expand their Muse partnership, including Meta deploying more Vera Rubin and Vera CPUs; Nvidia will invest $3B in Meta's planned equity fundraise

Investment comes as Facebook's parent seeks up to $95 billion via stock offerings  —  Nvidia and Meta Platforms are expanding …

Wall Street Journal

Context & Ripple Effects

Meta’s AI spending arc had already moved from its stated $60 billion–$65 billion 2025 capex plan to a proposed $95 billion infrastructure financing package. In February, Meta also committed to a multiyear purchase of millions of Nvidia Blackwell and Rubin GPUs, making the new deployment plan an expansion of an established supplier relationship.

Nvidia’s $3 billion participation ties financing to Meta’s planned infrastructure buildout and extends their Muse collaboration into training, inference and agent-deployment tooling. The deal stands out because Nvidia is not only supplying systems but also funding a major customer’s equity raise.

First-order effects

  • Meta gains $3 billion toward its planned equity fundraise while adding more Nvidia Vera Rubin systems and Vera CPUs to the infrastructure supporting Muse.
  • Nvidia deepens its role at Meta across hardware, Muse model performance and deployment tooling, while taking an equity position in the customer financing that supports those purchases.

Second-order effects

  • Nvidia’s investment differentiates it from fellow reported cornerstone investors AMD and Broadcom by coupling Meta funding with an expanded Nvidia system deployment.
  • Meta’s infrastructure financing becomes more closely linked to its key hardware supplier, concentrating both procurement and capital support around the Nvidia relationship.

Third-order effects

  • If large AI buyers increasingly accept supplier capital alongside long-term hardware commitments, compute procurement may evolve into a capital-stack competition rather than a product-performance contest alone.
  • Such arrangements would raise the strategic value of vendors able to provide both infrastructure and balance-sheet support, potentially making it harder for hardware challengers to displace entrenched suppliers at the largest AI builders.

The trend: AI infrastructure is being financed through tighter combinations of equity capital, long-term compute commitments and vendor partnerships.

Sure, it was “5x oversubscribed"@ $625.  That's why at on a MASSIVE market upday it's trading @ $625.  When will financial journalists realize that if an ECM banker's lips are moving, he's lying, lol?
