Context & Ripple Effects
Anthropic first limited Mythos Preview to organizations maintaining critical software through a restricted critical-software program, while placing Claude Security itself into Enterprise public beta as a vulnerability-scanning product. That earlier Security rollout supplied the enterprise channel for Mythos 5's wider defensive availability.
The company had also separated public access to Fable 5 from access to Mythos 5 for trusted organizations. Moving Mythos 5 into Claude Security and provider tools extends that controlled-access approach into established defensive workflows rather than opening the model broadly.
First-order effects
Claude Security for Enterprise users can now test Mythos 5 through the product's public beta, expanding the model's availability beyond Anthropic's earlier trusted-organization access.
Security-tool providers working with Anthropic can embed Mythos 5 in their defensive products, making those providers the delivery layer for the new capability.
Second-order effects
Providers that integrate Mythos 5 gain a reason to compete on how deeply they incorporate it into defensive workflows, while rival security platforms face pressure to match the model access or differentiate their own tooling.
Enterprise buyers evaluating Claude Security now have a model-specific reason to consolidate vulnerability-scanning and related defensive work in Anthropic's product ecosystem.
Third-order effects
The rollout reinforces frontier-model access governance in cybersecurity: providers can distribute defensive uses through enterprise products while Anthropic keeps the underlying model inside selected channels.
If provider embedding becomes the preferred route, security-model competition will increasingly turn on integrations and workflow distribution, not only direct model access.
The trend: Frontier AI vendors are channeling dual-use cyber capabilities into governed enterprise products and partner integrations rather than broad standalone release.
Anthropic, a month ago: Mythos is too dangerous for public use. — Anthropic, now: If you're willing to pay us enough money, you can use it. — claude.com/blog/bringin...
Point Claude Security at a GitHub repo and Mythos scans for vulnerabilities tracing data across files and reasoning about how components interact. Each finding comes back with a CWE category, confidence and severity ratings, and a suggested fix.
Claude Security scans now run on Claude Mythos 5, available today in public beta for all Claude Enterprise customers. Put our most capable security model to work on your codebase, no separate model access needed.
You're not angry enough at @AnthropicAI. They gated all cybersecurity functionality behind an Enterprise paywall and then happily fallback to a lesser model if you try to use Fable 5 to do the same work. This is making software demonstrably less safe. Time to use GLM 5.2.
Finally got access to Mythos! Time to put it to the test with Claude Security and see how powerful it really is If you want to understand how Claude Security works under the hood, including its agentic scanners and how findings are generated We wrote a full walkthrough here:
Labs will increasingly intermediate access to the best models and deliver the intelligence as a service / outcome vs API Also interesting to see the first steps towards labs internalizing routing - you just use “Anthropic” and it internally routes to Mythos / Sonnet / Opus etc
Suggested patches open in Claude Code on the web, using the models your team already uses. These updates are part of our work to give defenders greater access to Mythos results without requiring direct access to the model: the model runs behind the scan and returns findings only.
It's one of several steps to bring frontier capability to more defenders: we're working with partners to integrate Mythos 5 into their security products and services, our new Defender Advantage Fund provides $35M in credits for open-source security, and we're expanding our Cyber
Mythos 5 is public. But what's in a name really? Claude Security is a way to spend tokens to fix the bugs and defects in the code that Claude wrote with your tokens. …
