Nvidia and LG expand their partnership in AI, robotics, and mobility tech, including building an AI factory and co-designing future data center architectures

Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, visited the LG Group headquarters and shouted “Fighting LG,” emphasizing, “We are collaborating with LG …

The Chosun Daily Choi Eun-Kyung

Context & Ripple Effects

Nvidia has framed the “AI factory” as a new data-center model in earlier coverage, while its product rollout has paired accelerated computing, networking, and robotics platforms. The LG agreement applies that framing to a named industrial partner rather than a standalone Nvidia platform.

The move also follows Nvidia’s separate AI-megafactory partnership with Samsung, indicating that Korean conglomerates are becoming direct collaborators in Nvidia-centered AI infrastructure efforts. LG extends the pattern into a broader mix of AI, robotics, and mobility work.

First-order effects

  • LG and Nvidia will jointly build an AI Factory, creating a concrete shared infrastructure project within their expanded partnership.
  • The companies will co-design future data-center architectures, moving their relationship from using Nvidia technology toward joint technical planning across AI, robotics, and mobility.

Second-order effects

  • LG’s involvement gives Nvidia another major Korean industrial partner alongside Samsung, increasing pressure on other regional technology groups to define whether they will partner on AI infrastructure or develop differentiated alternatives.
  • Co-design links the AI Factory to future data-center choices, potentially tightening the connection between Nvidia’s compute and networking platforms and LG’s deployment requirements across its technology businesses.

Third-order effects

  • If similar partnerships continue, AI infrastructure could increasingly be shaped through bilateral alliances between accelerator vendors and diversified industrial groups, rather than through one-size-fits-all data-center products.
  • The pattern may make “AI factory” projects a strategic route for industrial companies to bring AI infrastructure, robotics, and mobility development under a common architecture; the degree of vendor dependence will depend on how much of that architecture is jointly controlled.

The trend: Nvidia is turning the AI-factory concept into a broader industrial-partnership model in which data-center architecture becomes a shared foundation for AI and physical-world technology programs.

CXMT's DDR5 memory is apparently not as cheap to procure as reports claim, falling in the same range as DRAM from other manufacturers. https://wccftech.com/...

Yeah, I was told much of the same. I was told some pretty interesting stuff actually from one or two. Some interesting stuff indeed.

@wccftech Note that this means CXMT is charging near the other manufacturers because it can, not because that's the actual cost of production. Everyone is overcharging, even CXMT. Eventually supply will catch up with all of them and they'll have no choice but to reduce prices.
