The company announced the changes two days before it plans to lay off 10 percent of its work force, or about 8,000 employees.

Meta always did it this way when I was there and it just resulted in everybody on the team going to one person's apartment and staying up super late drinking until everybody got the emails at 4am. Feels like the goal is to immiserate everybody for as long as possible.
