    Huge, though I think the key thing here is CAISI finally having a leader, and one with technical expertise, moreso than the Anthropic thing (he was at OAI before that, though this being OKed now is I guess one additional signal of a thaw, with Trump's statements being bigger).

    This guy dumped pre-IPO anthropic equity and moved across the continent to serve his country, and was rewarded by his country with a punch in the face. It would be blackpilling if I weren't so sure that the market will make better use of Collin than the bureaucrats ever will.

    First, congratulations to Dr. Fall! Second, Collin Burns is well regarded by everyone I knew in his field, and is a genuine technical researcher (and a world-ranked Rubik's cube master! A true shape rotator!). A strange move from USG to cancel his employment, but alas.
