Something that's worth highlighting about the DLSS 5 fiasco....this was NVIDIAs tech demo. This is them displaying the product in the most favorable way where they have all the power to make it look as good as possible and curate the result. And it STILL looks this bad.

At a certain point, it stops becoming a visual improvement and starts becoming a misrepresentation of someone's intent and vision. I think we just saw nvidia cross the line. I can see studios banning this as it misrepresents thier IP and makes their games look like the same

I think a lot of people are starting to realize “better graphics” are separate from artistic vision. Games use so many tools to achieve their intended look- it's not a one size fits all solution and never will be. It's why those unreal engine 5 Mario remakes look like total shit

@nickgeracehacks @digitalfoundry This was designed with developers. They have artistic control over DLSS 5's effects to ensure they maintain their game's aesthetic. The SDK includes things like intensity, color grading and masking off places where the effect shouldn't be applied.
