Apple's MacBook Neo is a serious threat to OEMs like HP, Lenovo, and Dell, as their $599 laptops seem inferior and Windows 11's reputation is at an all-time low

MacBook Neo is official.  It's $599, with an efficient A18 Pro SoC that offers M1-level performance in an affordable package that prioritizes style above all else.

the macbook neo *precisely* targets people with an iPhone and a windows laptop: runs windows apps, built-in antivirus, pairs with your iPhone, designed for first-time mac users oh, and it's $599 🤯 this is how apple will dominate the laptop market [image]

“the MacBook neo has 8gb of ram, literally useless!!!” a lot of people (incl. me) are using an 8gb M1 MBP just fine. it's really not the same as windows 8gb

This is the ASUS A14 with an OLED display, 60Hz refresh rate, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and all-day battery life thanks to Snapdragon. Oh, and it also has five physical ports. How many do you have on the MacBook Neo? Sure, the MacBook Neo is a big deal for the price in the Apple [imag…

Macbook Neo Hot Take: $599 obliterates entry level Windows & Chromebook markets. Apple's goal = elevate UX / touch-points (premium materials, really good screen) w/o competing w/ MBA So A18 Pro, 8GB vs 12GB+, USB 2/3 vs TB4, 36.5Wh battery, etc Its “good enough” for 90% of [image…

That MacBook Neo will be the new office default laptop! I don't know if HP or Dell have an answer to this!

This is the new MacBook Neo 🔥 RIP Windows [video]

I'm so excited for all the MacBook Neo owners that no longer have to use Windows.

Windows laptops were fun while they lasted. Just kidding! They always sucked and MacBook Neo is the best value laptop ever made.

the MacBook Neo should be a giant wake up call for Microsoft to improve Windows 11. Apple's MacBooks have always largely been premium devices, but the $599 Neo is firmly in the core part of the Windows OEM market. This is a red alert for Microsoft, Lenovo, Dell, HP, and others [i…

Joking aside, the Macbook Neo is absolutely genius. Why would anyone pay for a barely functioning, buggy Windows laptop when you can get a Mac for the about same price now? Apple products have insane battery, performance, great ecosystem, outstanding UI/UX, etc, etc.

In case folks need the context, the majority of consumer PCs sold annually (~120-140M depending on the year) are in the sub $700-800 price tier. 95% or more Windows-based. In markets outside US price tier is under $600. This is where Apple is targeting Macbook Neo.

MacBook Neo being $599 really is the nightmare scenario for Windows OEMs. If I were Microsoft and had any ambitions of keeping Windows relevant in the eyes of consumers, I'd be asking “now what?” https://www.windowscentral.com/ ...

I cannot overstate just how garbage the $600 laptop space is.  Actually enraging stuff.  People buy this junk and it barely works because Lenovo ships an adware backdoor “update” service that eats the RAM and the CPU.  People don't know why their new machine is slow.  —  bsky.app…

I can't believe it: Apple's $599 MacBook Neo just lit a monstrous fire under the Windows laptop market — Microsoft better be panicking

MacBook Neo only having 8GB of memory is unacceptable in 2026 It's just a cheap, outdated laptop. I don't know why anyone would buy that when this “El Capitan” computer can run five (5) Chrome tabs simultaneously (!!) [image]
