Today we are revising our Creator Revenue Sharing policies to maintain authenticity of content on Timeline and prevent manipulation of the program. During times of war, it is critical that people have access to authentic information on the ground. With today's AI technologies,

I appreciate that I get like a hundred Elon Bucks a month for my terrible posting habit here, but it's pretty hard to deny that turning Twitter into a revenue-sharing scheme has absolutely decimated the quality of the site.

This is a great complement to @X's community notes system, which results in less “reach” (thus monetization) for content annotated as inaccurate. You don't need a Ministry of Truth to incentivize truth online.

X's Head of Product announces that, effective immediately, users who post AI-generated videos of an armed conflict without adding a disclosure that it was made with AI will be suspended from Creator Revenue Sharing for 90 days. Further violations will bring permanent suspension.

If you are making any money at all on X, read this important post and be super-careful as to what “combat” videos you post.

Thank you Nikita — my country is currently under fire, and we are defending very fiercely to protect innocent people. This policy will help reduce misleading information and kill false propaganda.

This has been a major problem on the platform and it's amazing it's being addressed.

Important New creator revenue policy : Revenue will be paused for 90 days if anyone shares AI slop without disclaimer. If they share multiple times their account will be permanently suspended

Pallywood is gonna go broke! X is imposing penalties on users who post AI-generated videos of armed conflict without adding a disclosure.

X Is taking steps to prevent the posting of AI combat videos. Great. There is so much fake news out there and it's hard to tell what is real and what is AI these days.

StopAntisemitism is happy to help you get started @nikitabier - all of these accounts are sharing AI-assisted Gaza images. The truth? None of them are actually in Gaza as they claim. - @Mahayasir248909: based in Poland -@MahmoudAbed_sm: based in the Netherlands -

Now just expand it to the large monetized accounts who do nothing but post stolen content and made up claims and we would have a decent platform again.
  • @gen0m1cs @gen0m1cs on x
the actual solution to all this is 1) turn off monetization (get a real job) and 2) make geo-filters a thing so people can block third world dumps from polluting their timelines

This is an EXCELLENT development in the battle against disinformation. X will stop paying people to share AI fakes. Till now, disinformation accounts made money from AI-generated disinformation clickbait.

@Winterrose @AHM3D_HAMDAN Last night, we found a guy in Pakistan that was managing 31 accounts posting AI war videos. All were hacked and the usernames were changed on Feb 27 to “Iran War Monitor” or some derivative. We are getting much faster at detecting this—and also eliminati…
