Prediction: This plus the two other enforcement actions taken by Kalshi this week will be the first of many insider trading cases for prediction markets

Like the MrBeast case, this style of enforcement is straightforward: an employee was sloppy or brazen about using company info for gambling. But who decides what is “material non-public information” outside the context of a company? or when the person betting isn't an employee?

Losing your job at OpenAI for insider trading for betting on OpenAI announcements on Polymarket and Kalshi sounds like the dumbest way someone's lost millions of dollars that I've ever heard.
