There is a key takeaway from Discord's “Please don't be mad at us” press release: The UK, Australia, Brazil, Europe, and *multiple* US states are pressuring Discord into mandatory ID verification. Their hand is forced. In some cases like the UK and Australia, they don't even [ima…

Discord has finally responded to all of the uproar.  —  A lot of people are focusing on that them ending partnership with Persona.  That was a small victory, but not enough for me.  This response is better.  —  They're delaying rollout, and promising more transparency.  —  discor…

Discord delays age-verification roll out after backlash, releases new policy saying it will NOT partner with any vendor that doesn't perform the verification entirely “on device” — meaning biometrics are not shared.  👏👏👏  —  Persona, which did not meet that standard, has been dum…

Discord is delaying its global age verification rollout.  “The way this landed, many of you walked away thinking we're requiring face scans and ID uploads from everyone just to use Discord.” www.theverge.com/policy/88385...
