Discord says that the “vast majority of people can continue using Discord exactly as they do today” without needing to use a face scan or ID to verify their age

Either because they aren't accessing age-restricted experiences, or if its AI predicts they're old enough.

We've seen some questions about our age assurance update and we want to share more clarity.  We know how important these changes are to our community.  Here's what we want you to know: ‣‣‣ 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗗 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱. …

Discord just posted a novel about the age assurance. I'm guessing that everyone who's been canceling Nitro/Subs/Boosts is having an impact on their upcoming IPO. [image]

This statement is misleading and attempts to minimize the very invasive practices involved in any form age verification/age “assurance”. Here's a video I did breaking down why this technology is extremely invasive and should not be rolled out https://www.youtube.com/...

Discord is trying to clarify its upcoming global age verification, and it looks like it's getting double community notes. [image]

you know they're noticing the pressure being placed on them when they're forced to spin blatant lies like this, keep cancelling those nitro subscriptions and keep letting them know how you feel.

Hey @discord I got an alert that my ID and personal information regarding a stalker situation was leaked in the last databreach without so much as an apology after being told my data wasn't stored. The notice was 2 years later. Care to apologize now and drop this plan yet?
