Adobe Animate is the program we use to make the show. This decision would not only harm countless jobs in the industry but render so much past creations as lost media. I'm hoping they reverse this decision for the sake of animators everywhere. [image]

Adobe Animate is no longer being discontinued • Comes after backlash from tens of thousands of users • Support will continue — but new features won't be added going forward [image]

Adobe has officially WALKED BACK discontinuing support for Adobe Animate! Adobe Animate will NOT be going anywhere for the immediate future! Sometimes, enough backlash towards a decision can actually work. Awesome to see for all the animators who use this product independently [i…

To everyone who told me writing letters, open letters, and tagging Adobe wouldn't work, I would like you to see this. Adobe is reversing course on their decision to discontinue Animate. When enough people complain, usually progress gets made. The pen is mighty! Thanks to [image]

@mexopolis What we initially shared is not accurate. Adobe Animate is in maintenance mode, which means we will continue to provide security and bug fixes but are no longer adding new features. Animate will continue to be available for both current and new customers. We are commit…

Adobe has reversed the Animate decision. Good for those who need it, but shows how exploitative subscription models can be for the consumer. Now's the time to switch to software that values artists, seek out perpetual licenses, seek out open source. Protect yourself & your work. …

Okay, buuuut this isn't as good as Adobe is presenting.  —  “Maintenance mode” essentially means they'll provide security fixes for existing operating systems.  So Windows 11 should be fine, right?  —  Except ... which Windows 11?  —  24H2?  25H2?  26H2?  —  And what about Window…

It's insane to me that Adobe thought it was a good idea to retire Animate because they couldn't figure out what else to add to it.  As if an app has no use unless it's being constantly updated.  What an unhinged take on software.

Ubisoft failures, Adobe Animate stupidity, Unity killing its market, and the list goes on.  This'll all continue with so many workers getting hurt until the rules and compensation for execs no longer give easy golden parachutes.  People need to fail in a way that's meaningful.

If it doesn't get new updates, can the users pay a single fee and keep it forever? [embedded post]

Every new feature added more bugs and additional headaches anyway. And very few features actually made our lives easier

@FountainCartoon @adobeanimate 100% we did not handle this well. We have made some changes to our original plans. More info here: https://x.com/... [image]

Hopefully this whole thing is a wake up call to everyone using Adobe or any kind of subscription based software that we must seek or create alternatives.

I just shared an update on Adobe Animate over on reddit (/r/adobeanimate), and given the conversations on X, wanted to also share here. Its a bit long, as there is a lot of info, so I also included a screenshot of the core info on Animate. TLDR: We have made some changes to to [i…

@GodsLibtard Original plan was to discontinue Animate, and it would stop working after a certain date. What changed is we 1) are not discontinuing Animate, 2) it will continue to be available to install and use for new and existing users, and 3) if we do ever discontinue it, we w…
