I hope they get this done. Is Meta objectively terrible on multiple fronts? Yes. Do a huge number of Canadians use Facebook & Instagram to get their info? Also yes. I want 🇨🇦 news where people can see it www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/ art...

Ottawa is waking up to what many have said for years: the Online News Act backfired. Instead of helping Canadian publishers, it cut them off from audiences — just as trade pressure grows to scrap the law altogether. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/ ...

Because of the U.S., Canadians may soon be able to read news on Facebook again. Good. This may go down as the worst decision in media history. It was like going to owner of a roadside billboard who's been letting you use it for free and demanding they start paying you.
