Props to Bandcamp for updating their guidelines. AI-generated music will soon vastly outnumber human recordings. Like all content some of it will be good, but most will not. I certainly don't want to sift through it—or see real artists downranked. https://blog.bandcamp.com/...

Bandcamp is banning AI-generated music, but it's worth noting that the service has much less of a problem with AI music than mainstream DSPs, because of how it's designed.

A broad approach like this is going to lead to moderation challenges, but it really is this easy to just say out loud “that's not art and this is a website for art”.  —  blog.bandcamp.com/2026/01/13/ k...

Bandcamp have now a zero tolerance policy toward AI music and is putting a flag tool to help their team takedown it.  —  That's the bare minimum, and a bit reassuring concerning Bandcamp actual management going really capitalist.  —  They still need them to be clear toward AI gen…

We're articulating our approach to generative AI so musicians can keep making music and fans can trust the music they find on Bandcamp.
