I love iOS 14. Widgets are game changers. I shoved all my apps into the library. It's been a long time since an iPhone felt like magic instead of a relentless taskmaster for my various digital addictions.

A few friends and I have been running iOS 14 betas since release and I gotta say, I don't think we've used any of the new iMessage features, ever. Like maybe once, but that's about it.

AirPods hand-off with iOS 14 works... surprisingly well. Sure, there are simple ways to confuse it if you're a jerk that likes to confuse technology. But in regular usage, it's good. Which is a relief.

do you want Windows 98 as your iOS 14 home screen? Of course you do. This is the true Windows phone https://www.theverge.com/... https://twitter.com/...

Great insight from @backlon. The new 2020 iPad isn't enough for Zoom school, nor family sharing. Pity these issues won't be solved for at least 12 mos. https://www.theverge.com/... via @Verge

@backlon Things with better multi user support than the iPad within my line of site right now include: two different web browsers, plex, *my light bulbs*, my espresso machine, my microwave, and my motorcycle helmet Bluetooth headset

Remember when the iPad had a physical rotation lock switch? They should not have gotten rid of the physical rotation lock switch.

also in big reviews today, @backlon makes the point that no competition has allowed Apple to coast with the iPad and it doesn't address the things we need it to in 2020: https://www.theverge.com/...

I reviewed the new 2020 iPad. It is still a very good deal, but some of its legacy limitations are starting to grate. https://www.theverge.com/... https://twitter.com/...
