“The Deliveroo riders say this works out to them making around £6 per hour working 12-hour shifts, and that they believe that this will worsen over the coming months.” - @WiredUK's @TashaBernal on why @Deliveroo's mass hiring will devastate couriers. https://www.wired.co.uk/...

A couple of days ago some journos uncritically pushed out @Deliveroo propaganda, effectively giving them free advertising. One journo implied there was no other way to cover the story! Thankfully @TashaBernal has shown it's possible to do actual reporting: https://www.wired.co.uk…

What's it like to be a ‘hero’ working for @deliveroo? “I'm working seven days a week, ten to 12 hour shifts. Yesterday I worked 12 hours and I earned £75” https://www.wired.co.uk/...

Deliveroo says its couriers are “heroes”. We spoke to one Deliveroo courier working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to feed his three children. On some days, he works 12 hours and makes just £75. He's struggling to make ends meet and he's not alone https://www.wired.co.uk/...

Dee is working 12 hours every day and misses his kids. Martin can't pay the rent. Deliveroo says they're heroes for working during lockdown, but couriers told me their fees have been slashed and they are struggling to make ends meet https://www.wired.co.uk/...
