    @nickstatt AR requires new technology at almost every level of the stack to deliver in a form factor we think people will find acceptable. I think it is one the hardest problems our industry has attempted to tackle in quite some time

    Facebook will have a monopoly on early AR/VR because it has the most resources by a wide margin, and that's why it purchased Oculus and why it keeps funneling huge amounts of money into it. The question now is how and when it will pay off.

    Trying to wrap my head around what 6,000 people are doing working on AR/VR at Facebook everyday. I could imagine Oculus is a large chunk of that, as well as the Reality Labs research division and perhaps Portal is included in there(?) But 6,000 feels like... a lot! https://twitte…
