In a letter to GOP Senators, Amazon says it removed a book because of its policy not to sell books that frame LGBTQ+ identity as a mental illness

Wall Street Journal Jeffrey A. Trachtenberg

Following an inquiry by U.S. Senators, Amazon admits new policy change: it won't sell books that acknowledge LGBTQ+ identities as mental illnesses. @WSJ #GenderDysphoria https://www.wsj.com/...

Rubio: When the conflict is between working Americans and a company whose leadership has decided to wage culture war against working-class values, the choice is easy — I support the workers. All other times he supports the corporations? https://www.usatoday.com/... via @usatoday

This is rich. Sen. Marco Rubio says he supports Amazon unionization because of the company's “cultural” war on working-class values. Look forward to your support of unionization at Uber, Walmart, etc., because they too are “woke” employers https://www.usatoday.com/... via @usatod…

This is a masterclass in reverse engineering one's politics. Rubio supports unionization efforts at Amazon as a form of punishment because “Amazon have been allies of the left in the culture war.” Literally supporting “the left” to own the libs. https://www.usatoday.com/...

Mark this in the history books, the first time Marco Rubio has ever done anything good with his life. There's gotta be some underlying reason. But still. https://twitter.com/...

This is a strange argument from Marco Rubio, but if GOP politicians want to support unionizing at Amazon as a form of right-wing culture war politics then I will take it. https://www.usatoday.com/...

My contrarian take here is that Amazon SHOULD be held more accountable for decisions like this. Amazon does content moderation. You just wouldn't know it from the lack of transparency, sparse guidelines, garbage on its site and thin media coverage. https://www.wsj.com/...

Of course, Amazon also seems bound and determined to goad the GOP into anti-monopoly populism: https://www.wsj.com/...

Amazon has finally responded. Everyone agrees that gender dysphoria is a serious condition that causes great suffering. There is a debate, however, which amazon is seeking to shut down, about how best to treat patients who experience gender dysphoria. https://www.wsj.com/...
