@YaelEisenstat This is a fantastic project & I hope all of these questions will be asked. I have one more—for all witnesses: “To ensure greater transparency & accountability, can you please provide the committee with an exhaustive list of all orgs you fund, either directly or ind…

I wish someone did my homework so thoroughly as these fine folks have done for our members of congress https://twitter.com/...

Mr. #zuck: #fb executives claim #fb is a mirror to society. But multiple studies — including internal ones — have shown FB's #AI connects bad actors, amplifies illegal & objectionable content, conspiracies & misinfo. Why can't you, or won't you, shut this down these tools? https:…

Yes, I did contribute to this, and there are many great and important questions in there. But I am also a bit jaded about these hearings. Expect nothing but political and corporate theatre. The CEO are master presenters, too well-coached. Qs will be political. We won't learn much…

@YaelEisenstat @slpng_giants Question: if they have the technology to censure news in other countries to avoid unfavorable coverage of a totalitarian regime for the sake of profits, why can't they remove the massive misinformation campaign damaging democracy and public health in …

The questions here are so good. There is no way members of Congress can improve upon them. They should either use this as a script for next week's hearing or let these experts question the CEOs. Kudos, @just_security. https://twitter.com/...

Questions Congress Should Ask the Tech CEOS — on Disinfo and Extremism: 11 experts 34 questions Here's what Congress (@EnergyCommerce) should ask in Thursday's hearing with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Google CEO Sundar Pichai https://techpolicy.press/...

Up top, I really like @zittrain question as it's simply and points to the relationship between their algorithmic amplification decisions and profit seeking vs public service. /4 https://twitter.com/...

Nice to see this. After having watched a few dozen hearings here, Canada, UK, Ireland even Singapore, I have a few thoughts of course. A lot of really great topics here. /1 https://www.justsecurity.org/ ...

Again, lots of good questions here. Some are too long for a hearing of this size better for Questions for Record - especially if Congress demands actual answers. Here are some of my favorites. /3

#3 is also a great question about whether information integrity is assessed in deciding how algorithmic amplification decisions are made. I would like to hear this answer from Dorsey and Zuckerberg at the same time. /6 https://twitter.com/...

One ask, we do need to stop repeating the meme of the Hatch question 3yrs ago. All parties globally are much more sophisticated, hearings have been a lot smarter. It plays into their hands to repeat it and reinforces the public belief Facebook and Google are invincible. /2
  • @jason_kint Jason Kint on x
In the Zuckerberg questions, it actually would be good to get verbal testimony on the very first one in how Facebook can reframe statistics to mislead public, press and lawmakers. /5 https://twitter.com/...

1/ Tech CEOs to testify 3/25. We gathered questions Congress can ask on how they “helped foment and facilitate the violent attack on democracy on January 6th, and how they contribute to radicalization, extremism and the spread of disinformation generally.” https://www.justsecurit…
