Parler is back in Apple's App Store, with a promise to crack down on hate speech

Really interesting type of granularity emerging here: automated moderation at an infrastructure level. There have been localized speech limitations (ie Twitter's “Nazi bit” for certain regions) but I think this is the first to differentiate like this? https://www.washingtonpost.c…

This is an INSANE nugget about Amazon from this Parler story. Explains a LOT. Really is tough for these small companies to adequately resource their Trust and Safety teams, I guess. https://www.washingtonpost.com/ ... https://twitter.com/...

uh huh sure the 2.5 million contractors are just there to “train the AI” https://www.washingtonpost.com/ ... https://twitter.com/...

Parler is a safe space for radical caucasian terrorists and was a main organizing tool in plots to kidnap and kill members of congress and the VP. Why is Apple supporting the coup clutz clan? https://twitter.com/...

This reminds me of how the Theranos demo machine was actually just a box that had a robot arm inside that did the test exactly the way a human would do it https://twitter.com/...

Parler is back in the Apple app store with new rules against hate speech. Honestly, I don't know how it survives without hate speech. Isn't that the whole point of Parler?
  • @therickydavila Ricky Davila on x
Parler is a white supremacist app that promotes hate speech, propaganda and incites violent terrorism. It's back on the @Apple App Store which only means to me they approve of it.

Shady's back, back again. You'd think that “threat and incitement reporting tools” might have helped BEFORE the app's members tried to topple democracy. But better late than never? (No, “never” would be better!) https://www.washingtonpost.com/ ... #RIPParler #VivaParler #ReleaseN…

They *want* the hate on their platform. https://twitter.com/...

Parler will block hate speech on iphones, but not other phones or the web. Increasingly thinking this is the future of the internet: we'll all be looking at different things in the same place. More echo chambers, not less. https://www.washingtonpost.com/ ...

Parler is back on the Apple app store, relying on “artificial intelligence” to remove hate speech to keep it in line with Apple standards. https://www.washingtonpost.com/ ...
