The @coinbase credit card transactions (now linkable to Apple Pay & Google Pay) are plain old USD: “Coinbase will automatically convert all cryptocurrency to US Dollars and transfer the funds to your Coinbase Card (less conversion fees) for use in purchases and ATM withdrawals.”

So don't look at this as some kind of Apple or Google endorsement of cryptocurrency for transactions. Also, keep track of cryptocurrency transactions like selling it to load up the card with USD, because the IRS tracks it like an investment. https://blog.coinbase.com/...
