I'm sorry, but this fucking sucks. There's way too much distraction in these cars with screens everywhere, and having Apple encouraging it with CarPlay is so irresponsible. It actually makes me mad that regulators aren't stepping in to do something about this. https://twitter.com…

Interesting to see Apple expanding Carplay to take over the entire car UX. A power play, and hints of the Apple car itself... https://twitter.com/...

Road deaths keep soaring, but sure let's keep putting people behind bigger, heavier vehicles with even more distractions and (in some cases) lead them to believe they don't even have to look at the road because the vehicle will “drive” itself. https://www.theguardian.com/ ...

Remember that people use their cars one hour a day and their iPhones 4 hours a day. Using CarPlay as the car UX increases Apple screen time by a solid 25%. With large screens and wearables we're approaching 12 hr/day.

If Apple succeeds in this endeavor, they will eat the entire value chain in automotive. OEMs would be reduced to commodity assemblers, like Compaq and Dell were to Microsoft in the PC era. It's kind of a brilliant move. https://twitter.com/...

Hope these are customizable enough that you can have your speed dial max out at like 80 mph. Ridiculous that most vehicles' analog speed dials show 150+ mph. https://twitter.com/...

Holy fuck; they're looking to be the **entirety** of CarPlay infotainment. As in, including HVAC, etc. 🤯 #WWDC22

A built-in digital dashboard is way superior to a giant Android tablet in the middle of your car. This makes Tesla's look like a cheap hack and the software experience looks superior. Tim Cook is stepping on people's necks in 2023. https://twitter.com/...
