Pornhub will now have to write a formal risk assessment on the site's impact on the exercise of fundamental rights in the EU and the potential for on-platform disinformation to affect civic discourse. This will be one of the weirdest pieces of legal work ever undertaken.

33,5 bn visits on Pornhub in 2018. That's X4 how many we are on this🌍. Pornhub, Stripchat & XVideos have a huge responsibility. As #VLOPs under the #DSA they must: 👉fight #illegal content eg child sexual abuse / #deepfake porn 👉protect #children e.g. with age-verification

Today we designate 3 additional very large online platforms. Pornhub, Stripchat and XVideos meet the user thresholds to fall under stricter #DSA obligations. Creating a safer online environment for our children is an enforcement priority under the DSA.

This is very interesting... remember that in the UK we have the Online Safety Act, and that @Ofcom, who are currently demonstrating they're incapable of regulating such an open-and-shut case as GB News, will have to deal with all this...

This more than doubles the number of European platforms labeled VLOPs under the DSA. XVideos (founded in Paris in 2007, and now registered to a Czech company), Pornhub (founded in Canada, but now headquartered in Cyprus), Stripchat (also now Cyprus). 1/
