  Thinking about the Canadian Flipper Zero ban. Wouldn't they have to ban all SDRs that transmit? Car thieves don't exclusively use the Flipper. I've never seen one in a car theft demonstration.

  Normal people have no idea what a Flipper Zero can and more importantly cannot do. The likelihood of a stealing a car with one is way lower than just using a coat hanger. This is a switchblade moral panic but for the IT person at your job.

  An embarassing move from Canadian politicians. Flipper Zero is a general purpose tool for STEM, cryptographers, cyber security experts and hobbyists. If cars can easily be hacked with open source tools, it's a sign the encryption is brittle, not that the OSS tool is at fault.

  This Flipper Zero ban in Canada would be funny were it not for the fact that the stupidity & logic behind this decision extend to other stuff like housing, healthcare, transportation etc. Canadian governments at all parties and all levels of government have been dropping the ball…

  The Flipper Zero bans are amazing to me. And expected. Security on open IP networks only got to the (mediocre) state it's at as a result of constant, unrelenting attacks. RF protocols are like a delicate species that's never been exposed to predators.
