Since the launch of Copilot technical preview last year, I've been in awe of what AI can do to help developers write code easier and stay in the flow. Starting today, Copilot is generally available to individual developers. 🚀 https://github.blog/...

I must say I enjoyed Copilot. However I'm not sure if this is fair, in the end the training data was available as consequence of FLOSS at GitHub https://github.blog/...

GitHub charging $10/month for an A.I. feature trained on open source code hosted on their service is the software developer version of if you're not paying for the product then you are the product. https://www.theverge.com/...

My favorite use for GitHub Copilot is as training wheels for less familiar languages. I'm using Python more lately and the live suggestions help when I struggle for an idiom. It's like learning a foreign language with someone reminding you of words and phrases.

The waitlist is over; GitHub Copilot is now generally available! One of our favorite usages of Codex: https://twitter.com/...

Honestly very strange to me to see people debating whether or not the $10/month cost of this will be a blocker. At that price it needs to save an average developer around 9 minutes of time a month (at $150K a year salary) to break even. https://twitter.com/...

Copilot was as invaluable help for me in writing a big new feature for Pestle If this new feature makes me an extra $100, then Copilot is easily worth it to me + it's less after tax https://twitter.com/...

GitHub Copilot is truly amazing, and it is now GA! Worth spending some time to check it out. Congrats, @ashtom and team! https://github.blog/...

GitHub Copilot helps you get better focus and build faster by instantly suggesting code—and is now available for developers everywhere. https://github.blog/...

Is Copilot worth $10/month? Yep, you'll have to pay for it, even if you were in the beta (from August 22nd). I never really got too much value out of it because I only used one liner completions and those needed proof reading too. I think I'll pass. https://twitter.com/...

$10/mo will be a hard sell IMO, even if it is still cheaper than competitors. https://twitter.com/...

GitHub Copilot is launching today and will help you write code for $10 a month. The AI-powered tool can be used in Visual Studio Code, Neovim, and JetBrains IDEs. Full details here: https://www.theverge.com/... https://twitter.com/...
