Great to hear Groq leadership did right by their employees and most will see proper compensation, including some vesting acceleration. But this should still be built into hiring contracts, and not just be at the mercy of the founders. [image]

Huge win for common sense on the Groq deal: 90% of Groq employees join Nvidia. Some accelerated vesting. Groq shareholders receive 85% of $20B immediately. Massive L for cynical contrarian hot takes.

If this is true (90% of Groq employees are joining Nvidia) this deal is certainly an acquisition structured as an asset sale that would absolutely fall under the antitrust regulatory framework and subject the FTC review.

Imagine getting a pro rata dividend/distribution/tender at a massive premium to the NPV of your business AND keeping full control to exploit the core IP as you see fit. HALOs can be a dream outcome for employees.

@danprimack Thank you for tracking this down. Initial announcements only mentioning investors and founders made it sound likely that employees would be cut out. Hopefully this kind of inclusion gets written into future employment contracts

Been a bunch of chatter about how Groq employees make out in the Nvidia deal. Made some calls to find out. In short, very very well. Even if not fully vested. https://www.axios.com/...

@jfischoff They're shareholders. Get paid out, just like VCs or other outside shareholders.

Groq employees avoided the full Windsurf and are going to do very well from this licensing deal née acquisition. Good to see founders look out for the employee base! https://www.axios.com/...
