IPA last year said its corporate parent, Wi-LAN Inc., was owned by Owlpoint IP Opportunities JVF I LP and Quarterhill Inc. The Microsoft case once involved six patents, but the '560 patent, originally issued to @SRI_Intl, was all that remained at issue for trial.

@Apple @FinneganIPLaw Patent-related appeals at the Federal Circuit typically range from ~1-1 1/2 years. A stay of ITC's orders for the appeal's duration would likely take longer than $AAPL often does to develop & release next gens of devices—even as it fights for the viability of its banned products.
