This whole thing doesn't make sense. Working in IT most business/institutions have systems in place to back things up, take copies, have HD with important data. On top there's always recovery options and processes. The British Library is being run by clowns.

Horrible as this story is, I am more shocked that GBP 6-7 M constitute a whopping 40% of the British Library's reserves.  If that's the case, it's a wonder.  A national treasure th...
