@steveplotnicki @samhaselby No. He's calling Prof. Mamdani an architect of ‘Islamism’ with socialist characteristics: https://x.com/... Maguire is just spectacularly ill-informed while being confident in his nonsensical assertions.

Strange for Apple, Meta, Mistral & Anthropic not to sign on, given that large AI developers like IBM, Microsoft, OpenAI, etc., have all signed on.

Amazon, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and 100+ other companies signed the EU's AI Pact for “voluntary pledges” before the AI Act; Apple and Meta did not sign

I had predicted this last year itself. It's foolish to think you can have exclusive licensing of content for “AI” without that harming #competition (and #FOSS) and encouraging oligopolies. That's the very purpose of exclusivity!

The “prevention” arm of this could potentially be very dangerous. Will need to see what it actually means in practice. #deepfakes #disinfo #Meta #WhatsApp

This is great research that (a) helps address “the denominator problem” in social media analysis, (b) develops better techniques for random sampling on YouTube (and plausibly other platforms). Highly recommended. #socmed

@mer__edith The journalists at the Wire didn't ask very basic questions as to how a BJP functionary monitored a *private* acc. with 250-odd followers and within 2 minutes of a post going up flagged it for removal. https://twitter.com/...

I must admit, it takes a whole lot of chutzpah to spoof a video to implicate Meta by using Meta's own tools, thus allowing them to detect your spoof. But then again, the distance between chutzpah and moronic foolhardiness is rather small. https://twitter.com/...

There's proof that @thewire_in doctored screenshots. Check the date of the 2 experts' emails in the first screenshot (from https://thewire.in/...): 2022. Now check archived screenshot: 2021. https://archive.ph/xgdN3 Spott3d by the eagle-eyed @techtradeguru. Ty, oh guru 🙏 https://twitter.com/...

In response to Meta's rebuttal of its XCheck report, The Wire shares a video of a source using a subdomain, DKIM signatures, and more, but experts are skeptical

Here's a link to the @waybackmachine copy, which shows the screenshotted emails' dates as 2021. https://web.archive.org/... Now it has been edited to 2022. This conclusively shows (I hope) that @thewire_in's rebuttal is false. (all credit for spotting this goes to @techtradeguru.) https://twitter.com/...

From election night onwards, Twitter and Facebook have continued to label inaccurate election posts from Trump, his campaign staff, and others

Twitter, Facebook and YouTube remained on alert as the lack of a clear election result kept the online misinformation flowing.
