The ideas in this project are largely about using the social graph to make for better replies.  Novel idea for a social network.  —  The “Followers only” replies setting works for a reason!  We didn't want to make that the only option, but if we can at least move in that direction it could help

3. Trusted Verifiers are in keeping with our ethos — that Bluesky shouldn't be the sole verifier, and that there should be systems that exist outside of us as part of a robust civic infrastructure.  The world shouldn't depend on massive social companies as the sole authorities  —  2/2

So one good thing that seems to be happening right now is that a new end-to-end encryption standard “MLS” seems to be gaining a lot of momentum.  Like, a lot.  —  And from what I understand this is an important step there as well, because RCS' encryption is MLS.  Security folks correct me if I'm wrong
