More often than not, failing fast is a win: A company has to be able to take a big swing, miss, acknowledge reality, learn lessons, adjust, and try again. That's how innovation works. Fear of failure is an innovation killer. Failing fast isn't the enemy. Failing slowly is.

Gorgeous setup for today's @amazon Devices event. Note: This also looks like a much more style-and-design conscious crowd than what I usually see at tech events, which could signal something about the nature of today's announcements. Will we see a design-forward theme? [image]

Amazon unveils the $220 Echo Studio, its high-end speaker for audiophiles, 8" and 11" Echo Show for $180 and $220, and the $100 Echo Dot Max, all with Alexa+

New speakers include revamped look, upgraded silicon and integration with Alexa+ subscription service.

The @amazon Devices event begins with 2 statements: 1) The idea that technology, when done well, should fade into the background. 2) The dinner table... and the interruptive nature of pulling out a phone, even just to look something up. [image]

As a Kindle Scribe user, this is very exciting. Selfishly. Import/Export now goes directly to Google Drive!!! Alexa+ can also help summarize and search notes. This is a huge time-saver. [image]

Big announcement at #CES2025 🚨 @Dell is adding @AMD processors to its commercial AI PC lineup. More on this later (Dell's own embargo doesn't actually lift for another few hours), but this is both a significant shift for Dell and potential additional uplift for AMD's momentum. [image]

A few thoughts: 1) Those hockey-stick charts are supply-side sales pitches. That's it. They don't reflect the reality of consumer (or even enterprise) demand for AR and VR products, and whatever @Apple announces on Monday won't change that. https://twitter.com/...

Interesting approach given the need for interoperability and standards in the A.I. space. This also raises questions for me about IP: If you don't publish or patent your innovations until after they become products, it's going to be difficult to ramp up licensing and adoption. https://twitter.com/...
