A big concern at the outset of this “Year of Elections” was that AI-generated deep fakes would be decisive last-minute interventions.  But AI-generated content seems to be most effective/apparent as a vector of emotion in a campaign, accelerating vibes over facts, pushing narratives that ‘feel’ true.
