New story from me and @jetscott: Google's Android president talks about Android XR, the company's biggest push into mixed reality since Google Glass: https://www.cnet.com/...

Google unveils Android XR, a mixed reality OS with Gemini built in for headsets and smart glasses, and plans a 2025 launch with Samsung's Project Moohan headset

I demoed Google's new Android XR platform, Samsung's Project Moohan, and prototype smart glasses.  I felt as close to Tony Stark in a controlled demo as I'll ever be.

It took more than 11,000 nights of sleep data to develop the new sleep apnea detection feature on the Apple Watch Series 10, 9 and Ultra 2. More from my interview with Apple's Deidre Caldbeck and Matt Bianchi here: https://www.cnet.com/...

Apple Watch Series 10 review: bigger display, wide-angle OLED, faster charging, and sleep apnea detection, but no blood oxygen and another year of minor updates

The Series 10 bets big on a larger display and a more wearable design.  As far as iterative updates go, that's a savvy choice.

Apple's iPhone event is happening on Sept. 9. The “It's Glowtime” tagline makes me think we'll hear a lot about Siri (and new iPhones, Apple Watches of course) https://www.cnet.com/...

Apple announces a September 9 event at Apple Park with the iPhone 16 lineup, new Apple Watch models, and AirPods 4 expected; the invitation says “It's Glowtime”

After spending about a week with the Rabbit R1, I have a lot of thoughts: - Love the retro design - It understands natural language quite well - Most experiences feel half-baked and limited - Not close to being a viable alternative for phone apps yet https://www.cnet.com/...

Rabbit R1 review: $199 is reasonable but emblematic of a trend of selling unfinished products at full price while vowing to fix the issues later to win a “race”

Yes, USB-C is a big deal. But the iPhone 15's camera will also feel like a huge leap if you have an older phone. I couldn't believe how bad my iPhone 12's photos looked alongside the iPhone 15's (especially photos of people)

Apple iPhone 15 and 15 Plus review: comfortable to hold, Dynamic Island, great performance, and helpful camera features, but no always-on display or ProMotion

Apple's standard iPhone gets a lot of nice upgrades this year, but it's not anything we haven't seen before.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max review: USB-C, lighter, nicer to hold, useful Action Button, and camera improvements, but no 5x telephoto on the smaller Pro

Apple didn't choose the USB-C life, but boy are we glad it got here anyway. … There are very few surprises from new smartphones these days.

Samsung announces the Galaxy Z Flip 4, featuring the same 1.9" and 6.7" displays alongside battery and camera upgrades and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, starting at $999

As expected, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 4 — but the phone's greatest improvements might come through upgrades to software, not specs.

The Z Fold 4 gets a lot of the improvements I wanted: slightly more natural design when closed, better cameras, etc. But it's still so expensive: https://www.cnet.com/...

The Pixel 6 feels much truer to Google's original vision for the Pixel: a high-end phone truly meant to challenge the iPhone and Samsung. Past couple of years have felt more budget-oriented and focused on the 3a/4a line.
