When I covered distressed debt a deal like this, by that i mean one that was actually between two separate entities (ppl hired to work at xai actually were hired through x), would have been considered a classic example of a distressed transaction .

An arbitrator has instructed the book's author and its publishers to stop publishing the book, though it's unclear how much authority the arbitrator has to do so.

God this could be kinda ugly for the author idk.  The publisher Macmillian argued a couple days before the book even came out (Meta filed for emergency arbitration in Cook County last Friday) that it shouldn't be any part of the legal action at all.
