a thriving ecosystem is good. genuinely. it's nice to see people like jerry, mira, ilya, and yann trying to build with a fraction of the budget of openai and anthropic. but i don't really see the vision. they lack the five things that matter most: compute research taste

sonnet 4.6 is live, it's a really good model at a good price. i've had top secret access for the past 10 years and i've got to say. it's totally replaced everything else in my workflow. joking but i'm sure it's an intelligent quick model. a relief after the disappointment [image]

i have to be honest i've been disappointed so far.  perhaps the worst part is that you can't clear the chat / or have multiple chats.  so you get a ton of context rot.  scheduling and heartbeats are also broken.  so it doesn't have that proactive always on feel.  it's also performing much worse at simple computer use tasks.  obviously it could improve but so far.  openclaw is miles ahead of manusclaw.

Manus

Manus launches Manus Agents, allowing users to access Manus directly inside messaging apps, starting with Telegram and coming soon to other platforms

Today, we're introducing Manus Agents — a new way to access and use Manus directly inside your messaging apps.  Telegram is the first supported channel.

i don't see an intuitive way to switch to manus max within the agent (as the blog claims) i don't see a way to start a new prompt or have multiple chats so im burning through thousands of tokens and have a ton of context rot.  cron jobs and reminders seem broken because the instance is totally offline if you're not messaging it.  these are huge huge blockers for me compared to the competition.

wow. i just used @perplexity_ai's new deep research tool and i hate to say it but, @AravSrinivas and the team have cooked. it's quicker. it's cheaper. it scrapes more sources, better sources. and in my testing so far it's very much on par with open ai's $200 version.

OpenAI on Friday launched a new AI “reasoning” model, o3-mini, the newest in the company's o family of reasoning models.

i asked. and he is including o1 pro here. so: no model, including o1 pro, can get this right (even with multiple attempts). o3 mini one shots it. intelligence rockets up prices tumbles down.
