OpenAI is clearly out of control. Its legal team has no scruples — or even common sense — and it feels emboldened to harass whoever it likes. It will only stop if employees or regulators make clear this is unacceptable.

This is not acceptable. Remember that OpenAI is still legally a nonprofit with a mission of benefiting all of humanity. It should not be using the law to bully advocates for safely regulating AI.

I think one powerful way for Greg and Sam to demonstrate they are serious about safety, as they suggest here, is to publicly welcome criticism from former employees and release them from any non-disparagement clauses.
