This is the best move for 23andMe. I could see it being positioned very well in a few different areas, including in the longevity space, especially if there's assets to be acquired here. With a fresh start and totally different capitalization, there's real opportunity to build.

As far as I'm concerned, Amazon is the only Big Tech player with real and ambitions designs in the health tech space plus top down support. Acquisitions don't happen often and require many layers of approvals.

I'll add here that interestingly, Apple did something similar with AC Wellness and did not choose to expand the offering. Amazon may be only major tech co that wants to get into the business of actual care delivery.
